Lucidchart Tutorial: How to Use the Eyedropper Tool

Today I’m going to show you a quick tip
for using custom colors when you’re working in Lucidchart. If you want to follow along, I’ve turned
this document into a template, and there’s a link in the video description below. Here we’ve got a Lucidchart flyer, and I
want to format these shapes using official company colors. If I had the hexcodes, I could enter those
by clicking “fill,” then the color wheel, and then typing in the code. But that takes a lot of time, and anyway,
I don’t have the hexcodes for these colors right now. So, I’ll use the eyedropper tool. First, let’s select this shape. Since we want it to be filled with orange,
we’ll go to “shape color”, click the eyedropper, and then drag it to an orange
section of this flyer. Boom. One click and the shape is filled. I’ll do the same thing to change the text
to white. Select the shape, go to “text color”,
and select a white section of the canvas… or you could just pick white from the color
palette! On to our second box. For the orange outline, select the shape,
go to “line color”, and use the eyedropper tool to pick orange from the flyer. Again, we can use the eyedropper tool to change
text color, too. I’ll hover in over these logos to find a
chunk of dark grey to sample. The last box is really similar to the first. Let’s fill the shape with light grey sampled
from the left-hand side of the flyer, and then change the font color to orange. You can also use the eyedropper tool to sample
colors from pictures. So yes, you could theoretically make a Nyan
cat-themed diagram if you want. Please use your newfound power responsibly. If you want to practice using the eyedropper
tool in Lucidchart, follow the template link below to play around with the document I was
working on. To learn more about design in Lucidchart,

for another topic) leave them in the comments below. Happy diagramming!
