Izzo: ‘Eye test’ would put MSU in NCAA Tournament

3 COLLEGE HOOP..THE BIG TEN TOURNAMENT TIPS OFF TOMORROW.. BUT MICHIGAN AND MICHIGAN STATE DON’T PLAY UNTIL THURSDAY…THE WOLVERINES OPEN AGAINST ILLINOIS..THE SPARTANS TAKE ON THE WINNER OF THE PENN STATE-NEBRASKA GAME… 3 AND THAT GAME COULD SEAL THE DEAL FOR THE SPARTANS NCAA TOURNAMENT STREAK..LOSE AND THEY’LL HAVE TO SWEAT IT OUT ON SELECTION SUNDAY..WIN… AND THEY’RE LIKELY IN..TOM IZZO WAS ASKED IF HE THOUGHT HIS TEAM HAS DONE ENOUGH TO PUSH THE STREAK TO 20 YEARS… 3 3 THE EYE TEST WOULD SAY, ARE WE ONE OF THE 64 TEAMS… OF COURSE PREJUDICLY I WOULD SAY YES. BUT WHEN I DO SEE SOME OF THESE TEAMS IN … BECAUSE THEY PLAYED IN A CONFERENCE WHO HAD SOME TEAMS RANKED HIGH.. BUT THEIR NON CONFERENCE SCHEDULE MIGHT NOT BE ANYTHING, IT JUST BLOWS ME AWAY. THE EYE TESTE.. DOES IT PUT US AS ONE OF THE 64 IN MY HUMBLE OPINION, THE ANSWER IS YES. BUT THERE ARE PROBABLY 300 COACHES WHO THINK THAT ABOUT THEIR TEAMS TOO.
