How To Break A Sugar Addiction | Must See!

In this video I’m going to teach you how
to break a sugar addiction. Hi I’m Dr. Zyrowski from NuvisionExcel.com. If you are new to the channel, it is such
a pleasure to have you here. Be sure to subscribe, hit that bell notification
and join our notification community and we are going to help you excel your health and
your life. In this video were talking about how to break
a sugar addiction. This is a really big deal because you probably
have seen my other videos and heard me talk about how sugar prematurely ages you. It causes all types of chronic conditions
like diabetes, it drives inflammation which leads to conditions like heart disease and
cancer. Anyway, when we want to increase our health
we have to decrease our sugar intake. Sugar is directly correlated with so many
health crises that people face today. The average person actually consumes over
100 lbs. of sugar. This is 26 more times that people consumed
100 years ago. Anyway, you get the idea so it is very important
that we take this sugar problem and that we work to reduce and break our sugar addiction. A lot of people are probably like well you
really don’t understand this problem because breaking a sugar addiction is really hard
and you have never been there and truthfully, I grew up just like everybody else on a standard
american diet, eating a lot of carbs, drinking a lot of sodas, eating candy bars and really
not paying attention to my sugar intake. So, when I decided to pivot and start living
a healthy lifestyle sugar addiction was a big problem for me. One of the big reasons it’s a big problem
when you decide to come off it is because sugar acts like a drug on the body. Just like cocaine it activates a lot of the
same centers in the brain, that make you crave more and when you actually break this sugar
addiction typically you are going to get some different symptoms. You’re going to get some headaches, you
are going to get like dizziness and shakiness, fatigue and crashing’s. So, anyway, breaking that sugar addiction
is not easy by any means. When it comes to breaking it I’m going to
tell you it will be a little bit of a tough time but what I am going to identify is how
you can do it and make this process much easier using many of the same strategies i use with
clients I work with. So first let’s talk about identifying sugar. So, this is important because if we are consuming
sugar on the daily unknowingly then what is going to happen is were going to continue
to crave it. The more you eat, the more you crave sugar. So, when we look at how to identify it first
look to our carbohydrates. So, if were eating lots of white pastas, if
were eating a lot of bread, if were consuming rice these sorts of carbohydrates they are
breaking down as sugar and they are just really going to cause this sugar addiction thing
to be continuous. So, we have to break that carb cycle and eating
excess carbs if we want to break this sugar addiction. The next biggest thing we have to look out
for is that there is 50+ names that sugar is labeled as. Many of them end in -ose so high fructose
corn syrup, fructose, dextrose, look at those “oses” and they come in all these different
names basically to hide it in the package mainly so that people don’t understand what
their looking at and unknowingly consume large amounts of sugar when their trying not to. So, we have to be able to identify those names
there and that is another way and here is the thing too. Is that when we’re looking to remove sugar
from our diet the best thing that we can do in order to help with this whole process is
try to make lateral moves okay. So, when you are coming off soda for instance
look to sparkling water. Then when you are coming off sweets or candy,
you can use stevia sweetened chocolate so that you are not raising your blood sugar
and you are still filling that sweet craving. Okay, so try to make those lateral movements
to try and make this process a little easier for you because sugar acts like a drug and
when you break that sugar addiction you are going to get cravings, you are going to get
symptoms of blood sugar crashes, you are going to get fatigued and possible headaches but
the good news is it is only going to last a little over three days. So, when you break this cycle there is a light
at the end of the tunnel. Next big thing that we can do here is we can
change the way that we are eating. When we look at a lot of these different shakes
that are available to balance our blood sugar. One of the things that the good quality ones
actually have in them are fat, protein and fiber. Ok, so increasing our fat intake and eating
moderate amounts of protein and increasing our fiber intake is going to help balance
that blood sugar, it is going to help balance that insulin and that is really key when we’re
looking at breaking the sugar addiction and balancing insulin out by consuming these types
of food is really, really important. So, make sure you’re adding that to your
list of things to do. Next here is nutrients, so we want to make
sure were using proper nutrients to break this sugar addiction and make this process
as easy as possible. When we look at the nutrients here they do
a couple things, they support glucose metabolism. They also support insulin activity, and insulin
sensitivity. So, the first one on our list that we want
to use is B complex. B complex, is going to be very important and
it is not about taking a particular b vitamin, it’s taking all the b vitamins. B1,2,3 and so forth and it is going to really
help. Chromium is going to really help with the
impact that glucose has on the body. So, if we want to balance that blood sugar
chromium is a very powerful mineral that is going to support that. Now, cinnamon is a very important in this
whole process and balancing the glycemic impact that meals have on your body. So, using cinnamon is powerful as well in
this whole process, now the next is two powerful antioxidants that also support the glucose
metabolism, insulin sensitivity and insulin activity, that is green tea and alpha lipoic
acid. So, when you want to break that sugar addiction,
balance out those insulin levels add these different nutrients to your daily intake and
it’s really going to help you in that process. The last thing I want to mention here is gut
health. When it comes to breaking the sugar addiction
it is so important to look at the microbiota referring to the ecosystem within the gut. When we look at even diabetics for instance,
they always have problems with their microbiota. They also always just have problems with their
gut and its entirety. So, when we go looking at reversing diabetes
we always look at gut health, but when we look at breaking sugar addiction we also look
to gut health because problems such as yeast overgrowth or pathogenic overgrowth is all
going to lead to this sugar addiction cycle. The way we can work to break this sugar addiction
by healing the gut health is working to heal the gut lining and we can also use things
such as probiotic strength, which is a powerful probiotic that is going to go in and help
bring down those yeast levels and bring down those bad bacterial levels and support a good
healthy microbiome within the gut here. So, if we want to break this sugar addiction,
this is how you do it. Implement these different strategies right
here and you’re going to find that you get great results with breaking your sugar addiction
and when you break that sugar addiction your health is surely on the rise. So, be sure to like this video, give it a
thumbs up, subscribe to my channel. Also, if you want to learn more about the

  1. Im eating more cakes than ever since doing intermittent fasting. I have no idea why. And i dunno what is missing from my diet. But, I Hope this video can help me in some way too.

  2. I am down to no sugar (except for fruits) and feel so much better! Once a week, I have a small piece of 85% dark chocolate just to make me feel I am not deprived. You have to really be careful and read labels because there is sugar in EVERYTHING!

  3. Great video! Cut the carbs for 4 weeks now. Lost 7 kg.
And by the way… that is one handsome doctor!

  4. Can you tell me what 3 days might look like if I'm trying to break this addiction….Do I just eat meat & veggies with water for 3 days?….Thank you so much😊

  5. This is such a huge problem in America. This IS hard for everyone BUT everyone can kick the sugar habit. Sugary desserts and drinks were never hard for me but CARBS on the other hand is my downfall. Great video. Thanks Dr Nick.

  6. I managed to do it by…eating more sugar 😀 Just the right kind.
Great speech and I love your shirt!

  7. I'm not a sugar addict but my daughter sure is. She's not heavy at all but the sugar she consumes scares me. She wants to cut it out so thank you. I will share this w her

  8. Bcz I am addicted to eat my fav cookie I make oat peanut butter bars just to satisfy my cravings.
Without sugar in a day I feel headache, moody and depress😊

  9. I used have sweets almost everyday. From the day i started taking Apple cider vinegar, i don't feel like eating sweet dishes anymore.

  10. When I went carnivore sugar cravings disappeared almost immediately, much more so than trying keto. I think artificial/natural sweeteners like sugar alcohols, stevia, etc. just keep a sugar addiction going even longer. Instead of trying to substitute dessert with another sweet, keto option, just cutting out everything sweet is the simplest way to switch off your brains craving for it.

  11. It took me a full month to break my sugar addiction – some nights I would dream about sweets and sugar, but having broken the addiction I feel both free and healthy (no dental bills this past year for the first time ever)

  12. Thanks for the information Dr.Zyrowski.
I'm sweet, candy addiction all my life… I'm 40 years old, I started OMAD…. I'm suffering so much, and this is like a drug addiction detox….
Everything in USA food market has SUGARS….. I READ THAT STEVIA IS A GOOD ALTERNATIVE FOR SUGARS SUBSTITUTE AND CRAVINGS….
YOUR VIDEO IS VERY PROFESSIONAL AND KIND.
    YOUR ARE HANDSOME TOO.
    GOD BLESS YOU….

  13. Sugar addict?? Ha! Sugar junkie; here. Being serious.
I eat spoonfuls of the stuff at random times. That's why I'm watching and learning. Really trying to kick. But it's so hard.

  14. I'M NEW TO YOUR VIDEOS & I LOVE LOVE LOVE THEM ! YOU SHARE A LOT OF VALUABLE INFORMATION FOR US SUFFERERS. I ESPECIALLY LIKE WHAT YOU SAID ABOUT DOING LATERAL MOVES. SUBSTITUTING A BAD CHOICE WITH ONE THAT IS VERY SIMILAR BUT HEALTHY. I USED TO DO PRECISELY THAT, BUT WHEN I RETURNED TO MY HOMETOWN TO TAKE CARE OF MY AGING FATHER FROM THE HEALTH CENTER OF THE NATION, LOS ANGELES, MY HEALTHY REGIMEN & LIFESTYLE WENT TO HELL IN A HAND BASKET.
I NOW FIND MYSELF ADDICTED TO SUGAR, CARBS, COKE (I NEVER DRANK SODAS), POTATO CHIPS (I NEVER LIKED POTATO CHIPS) & A MYRIAD OF OTHER UNHEALTHY FOODS. IT'S HARD FOR ME TO BELIEVE I HAVE SUNK TO THIS LEVEL. THE CRAZY THING IS THOUGH, I HAVE NOT GAINED WEIGHT. HUH ? PERHAPS IT'S BECAUSE I SUFFER FROM TOXIC MOLD SYNDROME & CIRS (CHRONIC INFLAMMATORY RESPONSE SYNDROME). TALK ABOUT A NIGHTMARE. I HAVE MOVED 15 TIMES IN 3 YEARS TO ESCAPE THE RAVAGES OF MOLD, ALL TO NO AVAIL. MY LIFE HAS BEEN A NIGHTMARE OF HORRENDOUS SYMPTOMS & AT TIMES, DESPAIR.
I SIMPLY "MUST" ELIMINATE SUGAR FROM MY DIET. MY LIFE DEPENDS ON IT. I SAW YOUR OTHER VIDEO ABOUT DETOXING WITH ZEOLITE. I HAVE BEEN USING CHLOROPHYLL, CITRIDROPS (MICRO BALANCE HEALTH PRODUCTS) & DIATOMACEOUS EARTH AS A DETOX. I AM GOING TO TRY ZEOLITE. WHAT EXACTLY DO THE HORRIBLE SYMPTOMS COME FROM … THE MYCOTOXINS, THE INFLAMMATION, THE MOLD SPORE REACTION ? HAVE YOU DONE A VIDEO ON BIOTOXIN ILLNESS ? I WILL TRY TO FIND ONE. YOU ARE VERY KNOWLEDGEABLE ABOUT DETOXES & GETTING RID OF ADDICTIONS, AS THOSE ARE THE ONLY VIDEOS I'VE SEEN. I LOOK FORWARD TO SEEING YOUR OTHER VIDEOS. THANK YOU FOR CARING & SHARING. GOD BLESS YOU. 💝

  15. Great video, doc! Good points discussed here. One small comment: When you start out you say, " In this video, I'm going to teach YOU" and pointed your index finger toward the audience. It would be better to say, "I'm going to share with you," or something similar, pointing at your audience with an open hand gesture. That way, you don't give out an air of condescending attitude. You can teach people without using the word. Just my two cents. Otherwise you do a great job.

  16. I haven’t had sugar since 1998 . I am 58 now And I look much much Younger than my age by far. I had bladder cancer ( tumor removed) in 2000 ; I was given the all clear in 2016. I never any other treatment as it was deemed unecessary. The doctor kept an eye on me all that while ; but the cancer never came back . Awesome video , thanks

  17. Omg ,i have a little desert with sugar on saturday ,today zi each loke crazy ,I know is from sugar i did not change anything else i fell fine ,but today can not figure out what a

  18. Dr. Nick, I never used sugar or cakes cookies , sodas, juices etc., but I used to consume a lot of fruits and vegetables. Consumed only whole grains. Can eating fruits put me under sugar addiction?

  19. Do u know anywhere I can stay and go for help..I hv soo much trauma and other issues and need major support..my brain is no longer functioning right..

  20. Great video do you know of any medications that are great for blood pressure high blood pressure that is and have very minimal effect on the kidneys I am taking metoprolol 50 mg and it's not doing well in the kidneys…. the ultimate goal it's not be on any medications but my blood pressure is under control but just have been on Metropol off for a while now and I know it's not helping the kidneys as seen in my blood work.. thanks

  21. I’m a serious ex-sugar addict, but it took me only 4 days to get over the sugar cravings on keto. It was much easier than I had thought. I wish everyone gave it a try. I feel so much better, and no longer need medicines.

  22. Could these principles apply to coming off alcohol addiction? as alcohol is turned into sugar in the body. When I quit before, I craved sweets. I avoided them completely while a drinker. I'm hoping this time will be successful

  23. This guy is great, very clear and to the point, no wandering around, no unfinished ideas, no factoids, it's easy to follow him and understand each one of the points he is presenting, besides, he doesn't sound like a car salesman, like some other guy here online who is not even a medical doctor (and his annoying wife…). It's hard not to notice the skin of this guy, I've seen that only in babies, damn, I hate him, but I must say it is a motivating factor to follow his instructions!

  24. Too late I have been on a sugar free diet for 22 days and just gave up 15 minutes ago 😂😂✋🏻

  25. At 3.30, swap fizzy drinks for water and sugar for stevia, increase fat and fibre and moderate protein, complex B vitamins …….

  26. I am diabetic with high A1C. I got a wake up call one time I tested two hours after a pasta meal and my sugar went thru the roof to 22! It was a wake up call. So I found testing your blood sugar after meals provide you warning signs. Second, I try to program my mind and say sugar = poison! High in sugar equals high in toxicity. If I want to die sooner, eat more sugar as it poisons my blood. Thank you for the channel. I am a subscriber and I enjoy your videos.

  27. Look it's all well and good telling us all that but how do you stop a person from going into a petrol station or garage when they need to when they're on the road and then stopping themselves from buying that chocolate bar or buying that cake I want to do that because I don't have the willpower to stop that

  28. Here's the problem I'm a driver I like driving and I'm also on the road quite a lot I get cravings for chocolate bars I get cravings for cakes and anything with sugar in it how do I break that circle using tactics with willpower when you can tell us that that might be some relevant information but I don't need to know all about what you've talked about in that video I want to know how to find the willpower to not buy that chocolate bar in the first place why don't you go ahead an answer that because that would be helpful thank you

  29. Ok chromium I can get that in Pill form let's see if that works but still it's not going to have an effect on the wall power that it takes not to buy chocolate bar from petrol station

  30. I don't have headaches or the shakes or anything….but by god, do I just sometimes want a pastry/donut/jam on a crumpet……

  31. DO YOU HAVE A RECOMMENDATION FOR THE PROTEIN SHAKE TAT TASTES GOOD. IT WOULD HELP A LOT, THAN YOU ANGELA

  32. Still struggling with that been in keto down 20 lbs and fell off the wagon..starting again soon …like tomorrow

  33. i dont understand the reason for disliking this video it was very informative and i will try to cut down my sugar, which will be hard cos im only 13 so i dont have much control over the meals i eat, i only wish my parents would see this.
